WELCOME TO DARWIN DOGS

Where compassion meets canine companionship to create a transformative partnership for individuals disabled by their mental health conditions. We specialise in training assistance dogs to provide unwavering support, comfort, and companionship to those navigating the complex journey of mental health.

At Darwin Dogs, we understand the profound impact that well-trained assistance dogs can have on the lives of individuals dealing with conditions such as bipolar, borderline personality disorder, PTSD, autism and other mental health issues.  To be accepted as a Darwin Dogs client, you will need a formal diagnosis of a disabling mental health condition from a suitably qualified medical professional.  Our mission is to empower individuals to lead fuller, more independent lives by fostering a deep bond between them and their specially trained canine companions.

OUR TEAM

Our team consists of experienced and compassionate trainers who are dedicated to the well-being of both humans and dogs. We believe in the empowering effect of the human-canine connection and its ability to bring comfort and support to those with failing mental health.  Through a combination of positive reinforcement training, behavioural shaping, and specialised programs, we ensure that our assistance dogs are not only well-behaved but also attuned to the unique needs of their human partners.

At Darwin Dogs, we also prioritise the well-being and happiness of our canine companions.  We educate our clients and their support team in how to care for their dog, meeting its needs and enriching its life.

If you or a loved one have a canine companion who you think could be more supportive on your path to better mental well-being, consider Darwin Dogs.  Together, we’re transforming lives, one paw at a time.
